Dissemination, Exploitation of Results and Visibility (DEOR)

DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION of RESULTS

Dissemination is defined as the process of presenting planned information about project results and achievements. Dissemination is about making the main results/outputs of a project visible to main actors such as end users, relevant target audience and decision-makers. Disseminating the project to different target groups will contribute to the institution/organization carrying out the project to increase the institutional capacity, inspire other institutions/organizations and foster cooperation projects to be prepared in the future.

Dissemination is the promotion and awareness-raising process that should be carried out throughout the project. This process should be planned and organized at the very beginning of the project. The “Dissemination Strategy”, which is an output of this plan, should include why, how, when and to whom the results will be disseminated both during the project period and after the project is completed, and this strategy should be under the responsibility of all partners.

A quality dissemination plan should be able to answer the following questions:

  • What is the expected project result?
  • What kind of needs does the project meet?
  • What types of dissemination activities are planned?
  • Who is the target audience of dissemination activities?
  • What are the most suitable communication tools for the target audience?
  • When is the most effective application schedule?
  • What are the resources (human, financial) available?

In Erasmus+ and ESC projects, the quality of dissemination activities is very important and at least as important as the project implementation quality. Dissemination activities inspire new projects by expanding the impact area of the project and enabling the project objectives to be achieved faster.

Another phase that is expected to accompany dissemination is "exploitation of results". Using results is mostly related to the outputs of the projects. The use of the results ensures that the project continues to contribute to the relevant sectors through outputs after its completion, that is, it becomes “sustainable”. The use of project results can also be defined as benefiting from the project results at different levels by the relevant persons and/or institutions during the project and after the project ends. In other words, it is making the project outputs useful in everyday life.

The European Commission has prepared databases called Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and ESC Projects in order to contribute to the dissemination and exploitation of project results. These platforms make it possible to find the summaries of all projects that have received grants within the scope of Erasmus+ and ESC, project results and contact information of the project owner institutions.

In these platforms, the summaries of the projects and their activities are included, contact information and results of the partners are shared; good project practices are also chosen. It is aimed to highlight good practices by making general promotions of projects for which funds are allocated within the scope of Erasmus+ and ESC.

Why Should You Use Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and ESC Project Platform?

  • To increase the visibility of your project and disseminate your project,
  • To share the results of your project with other people who are interested in the same topic,
  • To get inspiration from other projects,
  • To find partners for your project ideas

It is recommended to the project owner institutions and organizations to make dissemination activities by including the links on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform or ESC Platform in the materials and social media posts produced within the scope of their projects.

You can also review the publication titled Dissemination and Use of Results for Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships, which includes sample projects from every sector on dissemination and use of results.

Turkish National Agency supports the dissemination process and exploitation of the results of Erasmus+ and ESC projects.

Our agency supports the dissemination and exploitation of the projects prepared within the scope of Erasmus+ and ESC in different ways. The main ones are as follows:

Social media:

  • Shared on social media accounts on behalf of the institution or the project,
  • Supported by visuals (photos, videos) of the activity,
  • Containing information about the purpose and results of the project,
  • Not containing labels, attributions ... to persons' names,

Our Agency supports the dissemination of social media project/institution accounts tagged to @ulusalajans.

In addition, shares with similar content are evaluated for use in different communication channels.

You can follow the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram addresses of The Turkish National Agency.

DEOR (Dissemination and Exploitation of Results) Workshops:

In order to contribute to the use of project results, our Agency organizes DEOR Workshops that bring together projects from different sectors with representatives of institutions/organizations who can benefit from the results of these projects and contribute to the transformation of the project results into policies.

Specific projects that have been brought together with decision-makers in the workshops held so far within the scope of DEOR.

Dissemination and Exploitation of Project Results are the main objectives of Erasmus+ and ESC Programs. Through DEOR, it is aimed to disseminate the outputs of the projects within the scope of the programs,  ensure their sustainability and contribute to their transformation into policies in the sectors they are related to. In this respect, DEOR is important in terms of making project outputs useful in daily life, converting project outputs into economic and social value and integrating and applying them into systems and policies to add value to life.

From this point of view, we encourage our Erasmus+ KA2 Cooperation Among Organizations and Institutions (Strategic Partnership, Partnerships for Cooperation) project owner institutions and organizations to inform local decision-makers about the outputs in order to ensure that the project outputs are realized. In addition to this, we attach importance to disseminating information to decision-makers about areas, and sectors… where outputs can be used by sharing them with local decision-makers in order to transform the project outputs into practice and use them as input in policy texts.

VISIBILITY

The funding of the projects prepared under Erasmus+ is provided by the European Commission via The Turkish National Agency. For this reason, in the framework of the contract you signed with the National Agency, there are mandated and obligatory text and logos to be used to ensure visibility in project outputs.
